Why FOG Exists.

Every day, 17 to 22 veterans die by suicide. The majority were never connected to VA care. They weren’t unreachable — they were just alone. FOG was built to change that.

The Problem We’re Solving

When service ends, the unit bond breaks. The structure, the identity, the people who had your back — gone. Veterans and first responders are left navigating civilian life with invisible weight and no formation around them.

Sixty percent of veterans who die by suicide were not connected to VA care in the two years before their death. That’s not a clinical failure. That’s a belonging failure. They didn’t need a waiting room — they needed a unit.

“We are not asking veterans to sit in a waiting room. We are asking them to join a unit — one that has their six, always.”

— FOG Mission Statement

How We Built It

FOG started with nothing but a mission and a Discord server. No grant funding, no staff, no office — just veterans who refused to let their brothers and sisters fight alone. Over 3.5 years we built a community of 762 members, raised and distributed over $5,000 in direct hardship assistance, and created a 24/7 peer support presence that reaches veterans across Nevada, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Everything FOG has built has been done by volunteers. Every dollar raised has gone directly to the mission. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing — and we are just getting started.
